Can You Help

If you would like us to publish your query and then pass on any information. Contact jim@filby.org.uk

Edward Filby

We are looking for information on Edward Filby and his ancestors.

Edward Filby was born about. 1767 and died 1833 in Methwold, Norfolk, England. He married Susan Butters on November 30th 1791 in Methwold. Susan was born about. 1771 and died in 1822.

We have traced 7 generations back to Edward but unfortunately we seem to have met a dead end. We are still searching, but if anyone has any information that will help us to go back further we will be pleased to hear from you.

Killed in Action

As a mark of respect and to honor them, we are trying to compile a list of all those who have been killed in action during the First World War and any wars before or since.

If you have any information on anyone including civilians with the surname of Filby, Filbey, Filbee, Philby and Philbey; who have been killed in any war time actions during the last (20th) century or earlier we will be pleased to hear from you.

We require information on names, rank, number, dates and places along with any citations and medals awarded, and if possible regiments etc. served in. Any information will be welcome, as we are anxious not to leave anyone off the list.

If anyone has any information on the above, or knows of anyone who does,

could they please contact Jim Filby who will be happy to pass on the information.
