H.F.I Hereditary Fructose Intolerance

A Genetic Liver Disorder.

We have been contacted by Susan Walker who has this disorder.

Her Mother was a Filby.

This is a genetic disorder where both parents must carry the gene before it is passed onto their children. Basically, it is an inability to tolerate sugars, primarily fruit sugars. It usually kills infants unless they get mother's milk.

Susan has the disorder. H.F.I. was unheard of when she was a baby. She survived as an infant just because her parents got angry with the doctors because they seemed to make things worse, so her parents put her on pure cow's milk.

Susan would like to spread the word to try and save babies lives, not just Filbys'. In an effort to help others who have children with the disorder, or who think their babies may have this disorder. If you would like to contact Susan, go to the Contacts page and fill in the form or go to the Webmaster page where you will find all my contact details. I will be more than happy to pass on any information to Susan who would then contact you.
